ABOUT
Casey Fuchs, Berlin. What started as a small silver pendant turned into rings. Cast by hand, one at a time, each one different from the last. The stone goes in before the metal. A single pour, a moment solidified. No two ever the same.
The process
Each piece is made using cast-in-place and sandcasting techniques. Ancient methods where stones are set into the mold before the metal is poured. The metal flows around the gem and holds it as it cools. No prongs. No adhesive. Just heat, gravity, and intention. The sand molds can be re-purposed after each cast.
The materials
All metal is recycled 925 sterling silver. The stones are moissanites, diamonds, sapphires, and rubies. Some naturally sourced, some lab-grown. Lab-grown gems carry the same composition, hardness, and clarity as what comes out of the ground.
The unknowns
Sourcing ethical gemstones is the hardest part of this work. It's where most of the greenwashing happens. The aim is to use stones from mines that prioritize worker safety and fair wages, but full guarantees don't exist in this industry. Using lab-grown stones where possible keeps the unknowns to a minimum.
Everything is made by hand in Berlin.
